Photopoems of Japan
by Kenneth Williams and Wallace Gagne

L.A.-bred photographer Kenneth Williams teams with Canadian poet Wallace Gagne to distill the essence of their Japanese experience.  Both are longtime residents of Japan with Japanese wives.

A sample poem
Walls and barriers
holding us in, keeping us out
Rule and negation
telling us, stay back, don’t try
Beware the wild impulse
to break free, flight impossible.
Outrageous nets, there but
not there
Reach beyond the stars
Be the angel in flight
the quest finding its way
the steel flower blossoming
